who is annie marie?

Hi, I’m Annie Marie — a lifelong photographer with a passion for creating soulful, artful portraits. My journey began as a kid, following my photographer dad with a camera and learning the magic of light and storytelling. After college and adventures in Guatemala, I launched Annie Marie Photography in Miami in 1994. Years later, I brought my business home to Minnesota, raising two kids and rebuilding my studio from the ground up.

Over the past 30+ years, my work has evolved through every phase — from film to digital, home studios to commercial spaces, and now to my cozy Linden Hills studio in Minneapolis. Along the way, I’ve been honored to earn titles like Minnesota Photographer of the Year (four years in a row), 2020 SYNC Photographer of the Year, and a Portrait Masters Fellow with three Master’s degrees. My work has been published in Senior Style Guide, Shutter Magazine, and featured on multiple podcasts.

When I’m not behind the camera, I’m mentoring photographers, speaking on stages, and sharing marketing tools to help creatives build stronger, more successful businesses.
